Born and raised in Denver Colorado, Benji first started to sing when he was 8 years old. He was trained classically at Saint John's Cathedral and recorded 4 choral albums while there. In high school Benji was part of a small a cappella jazz group which took numerous state honors. At the ripe age of 18 he left home for college traveling all of 30 miles to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he sung in three different groups. Keeping up with his classical roots Benji was fortunate to be a part of the elite undergraduate choir as well as a small vocal jazz group run through the university. His sophomore year he joined In the Buff where he was the group's treasurer and eventually president. With In the Buff, Benj helped to produce two albums, competed in the ICCA and yes… met Driver - he just can't seem to stop singing with that kid. When not singing Benji enjoys video games, movies, and yelling at the Broncos to put Elway back in the game.
